Scogin Receives CASE Distinguished Achievement Honor

Patty Scogin, ACC director of publications and creative services, has received the 2012 CASE District IV Distinguished Achievement Award, which recognizes those who have made a significant commitment to the advancement profession through their service to their institution and to CASE.

CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) is an international association for educational institutions and professionals working in alumni relations, communications, development, and marketing. CASE District IV comprises colleges, universities, and independent schools from Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Mexico. The award was presented at the recent District IV conference in Dallas.

Patty Scogin has been with ACC for 12 years.

“This is a huge honor and I can’t think of a more deserving person to receive it,” says Brette Lea, ACC executive director of public information and college marketing. “Higher ed professionals from states across the region chose Patty because of her talent, CASE volunteer work, and service to advancing the community college mission. We’re lucky to have her.”

During the past 30 years, Scogin has served as a CASE District IV board member and chair of several conference committees. She has been named a CASE International “Heavy Hitter” Top Workshop presenter twice and has been selected three times to attend the CASE International Leadership Summit.

Scogin has been with ACC for 12 years and oversees the college’s print marketing communications programs and services. Before joining ACC she was associate director of college relations at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. She has a bachelor’s degree in music from Eastern New Mexico University and a master’s degree in communications from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
