ACC Highlights College Opportunities for Round Rock ISD Graduates

Representatives from Austin Community College’s career training programs and student services partnered with Round Rock ISD to bring college enrollment opportunities to the district’s 2012 high school graduates during an August 16 enrollment event.

“The theme of this is event is that it’s not too late to enroll in college,” says Dr. Melissa Richardson Curtis, director of ACC’s College Connection program, which helps eliminate barriers to college enrollment. “ACC provides an affordable pathway to higher education and in-demand careers. For those who haven’t made their college plans yet, there’s still time.”

About 100 recent graduates and their families were expected to attend the event and learn about ACC’s credit and non-credit career training programs, some which can be completed in as little as six months. ACC representatives also answered questions about financial aid and advising.

ACC is an open-door institution, with everyone who meets eligibility criteria encouraged to enroll. Fall 2012 credit class registration runs through Aug. 22; the fall semester begins Aug. 27. For more information on getting started at ACC, visit austincc.edu/register.
