ACC Hosts Nov. 14 Documentary Screening with Veterans’ Stories

The ACC Creative Writing Department will host a screening of a documentary that recounts the making of a film telling veterans’ stories as well as an information session on an Austin version of the documentary. “In the Telling: The Making of Telling: Eugene” will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at Eastview Campus (3401 Webberville Rd., Room 8500).

The Telling Project works with communities and organizations to produce innovative performances in which military veterans and their families stage the “telling” of their stories for their communities. Â “In the Telling” chronicles the making of a Telling event in Eugene, Oregon.

Telling: Austin will take place this spring. For information on participating, email [email protected].

“Telling: Austin provides veterans an outlet to creatively share their stories,” says Charlotte Gullick, chair of the ACC Creative Writing Department. “ACC is proud to host this film screening, so that we may share The Telling Project’s message with our student veterans and the community.”

The film screening is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the Telling Project’s website.
