TACHE Hosts Run to Benefit ACC Scholarships

ACC students, employees, and the community are invited to take part in the inaugural “Run Fore the Money” 5K cross-country run/1K walk, presented by the ACC chapter of the Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE). The event is set for 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Riverside Campus Golf Course (1020 Grove Blvd.).

Proceeds will benefit ACC Scholarships. The Austin Community College Foundation will match every dollar generated by the event.

“Besides raising scholarship money, Run Fore the Money also is an opportunity to increase awareness of better health through activity and exercise,” says Lupe Mendoza, an ACC counselor who helped organize the event. “The idea is to have fun while also supporting a worthwhile cause.”

Registration is open until the start of the race; on-site registration will be available. Sign-up costs are $25 for the 5k run and $18 for the 1K walk.  For more information and to register, visit austincc.edu/tache. The event is co-sponsored by RunTex.
