Lupe Valdez to Discuss Opportunities in Film April 26

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to hear filmmaker Lupe Valdez discuss opportunities in the local film industry and related topics. Valdez will speak from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, April 26, in the RTF production studio at Northridge Campus (Bldg. 4000; Rm. 4142).

As owner of Anteros Films and Anteros Entertainment, Valdez has written, produced, directed, and edited 10 short films and three music videos. He has been a crew member for more than 40 productions at all budget levels, from industrial films to commercials.

Formerly a talent agent with Acclaim Talent, Valdez booked actors for such television and film productions as No Country for Old Men, Prison Break, and Friday Night Lights. He has been involved with South by Southwest for 12 years, including two years as a panelist. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Valdez is membership coordinator for NALIP Austin (National Association of Latino Independent Producers).
