ACC Leaders, Faculty to Present at NISOD Conference

The following members of the ACC community are among those scheduled to present at the NISOD (National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development) annual Teaching & Leadership Excellence Conference May 26-29 at the Austin Convention Center.

ACC President/CEO Dr. Richard Rhodes and Trustee Barbara Mink: “Preparing for Senior Leadership Positions in Community Colleges.”

Stephanie Hawley, associate vice president of college access programs, and Molly Beth Malcolm, intern to the president: “Reinventing the Community College: A Leader’s Guide to Systemic Change.”

Raymond Gerson, adjunct associate professor of human development: “Strategies for Increasing Student Retention and Success.”

Christina Michura, interim director of faculty development: “Grow Your Own: Different Perspectives on Institutional Leadership Academies.”

Charlotte Gullick, chair of the Creative Writing Department, and Shirin Khosropour, professor of psychology:Â “Exploring Humanitarian Law and Engaging Your Students as Global Thinkers.”

NISOD Excellence Award recipients were selected from the nominees for ACC teaching and leadership awards.
