Redesigned Website Passes the Test with Student Audience

Students preview the website at Eastview Campus.

The new ACC homepage moved a step closer to official launch when the web team enlisted students at various campuses to test the site’s navigation and report their findings. The testing indicated that the site fulfills its primary goal of streamlining student information, says Web Administrator Edward Terry.

“Students who tested the site required fewer clicks from the homepage to obtain their information and found the revised content easier to understand,” Terry says. “They also commented on how much more information they could find, even though the amount of text is probably reduced.”

Students overwhelmingly approved of the new homepage, whose redesign meets college brand standards and functions seamlessly on mobile devices. However, they requested some additional features, including an academic calendar and more prominent display of Online Services, ACCmail, and Blackboard.

The test site is still in development and under review collegewide. A fall launch is planned, following review by the President’s Leadership Team.
