Austin Community College will celebrate the completion of the ACC Elgin Campus Thursday, Aug. 29, with a Grand Opening and Dedication (10 to 11:30 a.m., 1501 W. US Hwy 290). The event will feature remarks from special guests, refreshments, and musical performances. Guests are invited to tour the campus following the ceremony.
“We are so proud to see this campus come to fruition,” says David Glass, a local businessman. “The Elgin community and surrounding areas have been very supportive and ready for the new opportunities the campus will bring.”

“We offer core curriculum classes required for a college degree and workforce classes leading directly to employment,” says Erwin. “This is in addition to all the student support programs and services you expect at college.”
Elgin Campus is home to a new noncredit program that capitalizes on the sustainable agriculture movement, with classes beginning this fall. The college also is working with the community to develop a veterinary technician program, which is going through the approval process with ACC’s accrediting commission.
