ACC Hosts University Transfer Fair Sept. 25

Austin Community College will host a university transfer fair featuring more than 40 universities – with representatives available to discuss the transfer process, academic goals, and scholarship opportunities.

The event is Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Eastview Campus (3401 Webberville Rd., Building 8000, Room 8500). Registration is not required, and it is free and open to students as well as the public.

The university transfer fair is part of ACC’s Transfer Week, which features a variety of events that give students the opportunity to learn about transferring to a university, get a jumpstart on career planning, and receive assistance preparing for the future.

About half of ACC students intend to transfer, and data show they perform as well as or better than other transfer students and those who begin at a university.

“ACC is committed to helping students accomplish their goals. For many of them, that includes transferring to a university,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO. “This college fair is a great way for students to learn about other colleges and universities and get started on the transfer process now.”

Participating universities include the University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, Texas State University-Round Rock, National American University, and Southern Methodist University. The event will feature workshops for students as well as refreshments and prizes.
