Texas law requires many incoming college students to be vaccinated against bacterial meningitis or to provide an exemption request declining the vaccine. There is a new procedure for obtaining an exemption for reasons of conscience.

All new students who wish to obtain this exemption must request the form from the Texas Department of State Health Services. After you submit the online request, the form will arrive by mail in 5-7 business days. The form must be notarized before it is turned in to Magnus Health, which is tracking compliance for ACC.

Students may no longer use the affidavit for objection from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board as of Oct. 1.
