ACC’s College Connection Earns National Recognition

ACC’s College Connection Program has been selected as one of 10 finalists for the 2014 Legacy Award to be given at the annual Community College Futures Assembly (CCFA) in January.

The Legacy Award recognizes community college programs that demonstrate five years of successful institutional transformation and/or proven program replication. Nominated programs must have been previous finalists for the prestigious CCFA Bellwether award, which recognizes innovative programs and practices in three categories: Instructional Programs & Services; Planning, Governance, & Finance; and Workforce Development.

ACC’s College Connection helps area high school seniors navigate the college enrollment process by providing one-on-one assistance with admissions and financial aid applications, Texas Success Initiative testing, and new student advising.

Other Texas colleges who are Legacy Award finalists are Alamo Colleges, South Texas College, and Temple College.

Finalists will present their programs at the 2014 CCFA Jan. 25-28. For more information visit the CCFA website.
