Students, faculty invited to entrepreneurship panel May 31

Austin Community College students and faculty are invited to attend a workshop for aspiring entrepreneurs co-hosted by ACC and the City of Austin.

“Exploring Entrepreneurship” takes place Saturday, May 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at ACC’s Northridge Campus (11928 Stonehollow Dr.). The event includes a panel discussion and a tour of the college’s Architectural and Engineering Computer Aided Design (CAD) Department, including the 3D printing/computer-aided-manufacturing lab. Participants will learn about a program to partner with ACC’s CAD students to develop a prototype of their product.

“This is a great opportunity for the ACC community,” says Professor Kim Duren of ACC’s CAD Department. “Participants can network with successful entrepreneurs and learn what it takes to get an idea off the ground and turn it into a reality. We also hope this event spurs partnerships with other departments at the college.”

Online registration is required. For more information about the event, contact the City of Austin’s Small Business Development Program at (512) 974.7800.
