HR Connection: Annual benefits enrollment, HealthSelect app, and more

The Employees Retirement System annual enrollment fair is June 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at Highland Business Center Rm. 201. You can learn about insurance coverage options, new provisions, and rates for the upcoming plan year.

ERS will review benefit plan changes, and representatives from United Healthcare, Scott & White, Humana, TexFlex, Beneplace, Texa$aver, and Aon Hewitt will be available to answer questions.

Annual benefits enrollment period is approaching

ACC’s annual ERS enrollment period is Monday, July 14, through Friday, July 25. You can access benefit information and change your plan enrollment online through the ERS website. Changes made during annual enrollment are effective Sept. 1 for the 2015 plan year.

Please note: During the annual enrollment period, you cannot change your family status due to qualifying life events through the ERS website. Contact HR benefits staff to make these changes during the enrollment period.

For questions about benefits enrollment, contact any member of the HR benefits staff or email [email protected].

Mobile app for HealthSelect members

HealthSelect has created the Health4Me app to help members locate a nearby physician, check the status of claims, communicate directly with a United Healthcare representative, or view an electronic version of their medical ID card. The app is available for Apple and Android devices. For more information view the Health4Me App webpage.

New look for TexFlex website

Check out the TexFlex website’s new look. New and improved features include “My Dashboard,” “Quick Links,” and a Financial Center. Plan participants can access a savings calculator, forms, and a list of eligible expenses. Learn more about the new features on the New Look for TexFlex website.

New rules apply to TexFlex flexible spending accounts. Â Starting with plan year 2015, you can carry over up to $500 of unspent TexFlex funds to the next plan year. This change will replace the current grace period in which you are allowed to use unspent funds. The grace period is still in effect for this plan year; the carryover starts at the end of plan year 2015, or Aug. 31, 2015. Details will be discussed during the enrollment fair, or view the TexFlex website for information.
