ACC event honors African American History Month

African American Woman speakerAustin Community College recognizes African American History Month with the 15th annual Gospel Extravaganza, featuring local and national award-winning gospel artists from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, February 7, ACC Eastview Campus, Rm 8500 (3401 Webberville Rd).

“The extravaganza serves as a kick-off to the celebration of African American History Month and it highlights music, which has historically been a method of communicating and sharing our deep-rooted spiritual messages and praise,” Loretta Edelen says, ACC community outreach director. “Austin Community College has played a role in collaborating with artists through our Arts and Humanities Department, as well as providing ongoing support for our students through Student Life and other venues on campus.”

The event includes performances by Kara-Nichole, Power of Soul, CCysta, Musically Noted, 19th Street Praise Team and more.

The extravaganza is free and open to the public. For questions contact Loretta Edelen at [email protected] or 512.223.5106.
