ACC to adopt new tool for student advising, registering

Austin Community College is replacing the WebAdvisor system (Online Services tools) with Self Service, Ellucian’s next-generation software designed to provide students, faculty, and staff with “anytime, anywhere” access to academic information and services.

The first phase of the launch is expected in late 2015, with a soft launch planned for October. Once Self Service is operational, students will be able to create their academic plans, register for classes, manage their financial aid, receive notifications, view their grades, and more from any computer or mobile device connected to the Internet, greatly enhancing the student experience.

Information Technology plans to operate both WebAdvisor (Online Services) and Self Service during a transitional phase to allow staff and students to learn the new system and make any needed adjustments.  Degree Map, developed by Civitas Learning in partnership with ACC, will still be available for advisors, faculty, and students to assist in planning and comparing academic options.

More information about the tool will be communicated in the coming weeks.
