ACC hosts open house for students interested in live music industry

The Music Business, Performance, and Technology Department (MBPT) at Austin Community College is hosting an open house for new and prospective students Saturday, August 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Northridge Campus, Bldg. 4000 Room 4136, (11928 Stonehollow Dr.).

Participants are invited to tour the music facilities including MIDI and live sound and recording classrooms and meet with faculty and staff to learn more about the department and degree programs.

“This event will be an excellent opportunity to check out what career path speaks to you,” says Geoffrey Schulman, ACC MBPT Department chair. “We offer classes that train the live music capital workforce.”

ACC’s MBPT program offers classes in audio engineering and recording studio management, live sound reinforcement, concert promotion, talent management, entertainment law, music publishing, professional audio maintenance and record label administration, live performance, and more.
