ACC Riverbats Café dishing up national cuisine

Austin Community College (ACC) Culinary Arts students invite you to sample cuisine from across the nation at the college’s student-run restaurant, Riverbats Café, open Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Eastview Campus, Building 3000 (3401 Webberville Rd., Room 3158).

“This restaurant gives students a varied experience in the kitchen. They learn about the culture of different regions and create menus from scratch,” says Adriana Thompson, program assistant. “Students focus on learning the art of service and styles of serving. The hands-on learning environment gives them the skills they need to be successful.”

The café features weekly American regional specials, including areas such as Hawaii/Pacific Rim, Interior Mexico, and Creole/Louisiana. Take-out service is offered.

Riverbats Café is open to the public through spring semester. In lieu of a gratuity, guests are invited to complete a comment card, which further supports the learning process.

To view the menus visit austincc.edu/culart/riverbats-cafe. The restaurant will close during spring break. For more information on the Culinary Arts Program visit austincc.edu/cularts.
