Austin Community College will present a discussion of the worldwide impact of globalization during the final segment of the college’s spring global issues speaker series.

The presentation is Wednesday, April 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Highland Business Center, Room 201 (5930 Middle Fiskville Rd.). ACC Sociology Professor Dr. Rennison Lalgee will discuss the origins and impact of globalization in India.

“Globalization in India has brought rapid social change and coincided with a liberalizing economy in India,”says Dr. Lalgee. “The effects of globalization have disrupted traditional sectors of Indian society, expanded urbanization, and impacted a growing middle class.”

The event, presented by ACC’s International Program Department, is free and open to the public.
