ACC speaker series examines European migration crisis

Austin Community College examines the migration crisis impacting Europe in a presentation Wednesday, June 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Northridge Campus, Room 4136 (11928 Stonehollow Drive).

ACC-Classroom

ACC Sociology Professor Linda Tobin will discuss the cultural, economic, and political challenges and implications the European Union faces as it deals with a growing number of asylum seekers.

“It’s important to bring the effects of globalization to the forefront,” Tobin says. “We will differentiate between refugees and migrants and have an open dialogue about the challenges displaced populations face.”

The free event is part of a global issues speaker series presented by ACC’s International Programs Office and is open to the public.
