The Austin Community College District (ACC) invites veterans, their families, and the community to “We’ve got your six,” a Veterans Day celebration, on Wednesday, November 11, at the ACC Veterans Resource Center at Highland (6101 Airport Blvd.).

Texas Sen. Kirk Watson and Rep. Donna Howard will serve as guest speakers. Special guests include Richard Overton, the nation’s oldest surviving veteran, Doug O’Connell, chairman of SongwritingWith:Soldiers Inc., and Austin musician Monte Warden.

Veterans organizations will be available to answer questions and provide information about the programs, services, and benefits available to veterans.

Following the Veterans Resource Center event, ACC also will host a POW/MIA flag-raising ceremony at Elgin Campus (1501 W. Hwy. 290) with Sen. Watson and U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul.
