ACC hosts discussion on Iran and U.S. relations

Austin Community College will present a discussion of Iran’s past and present as part of the college’s 2018 Global Issues Speaker Series.

Hosted by the college’s International Programs Office, the presentation is Wednesday, January 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eastview Campus, Room 8500 (3401 Webberville Rd.). ACC Government Professor Maria de la Luz Valverde will discuss the historical development of Iran and its relationship with the United States.

“For more than six decades Iran and the U.S. have been both close allies and fierce enemies,” says William Hayden, International Programs director. “Despite our long history, many of us know little about Iran, its people, and the many shared interests of our governments.”

The event is free and open to the public.

For more information, contact Hayden at 512-223-7114 or [email protected].
