ACC hosts fall commencement

The Austin Community College District (ACC) will celebrate its summer and fall graduates at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 14, at the Frank Erwin Center (1701 Red River St.).

The commencement ceremony honors students who have completed ACC’s associate degree, certificate, and high school equivalency programs. More than 2,300 students are eligible to participate.

“Watching students realize the culmination of their hard work is one of my favorite parts about leading this extraordinary institution,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president and CEO. “This a pure moment of celebration.”

The commencement ceremony includes a tribute to graduating veterans, who receive a medallion in appreciation of their military service.

Roy Spence, co-founder of GSD&M, will deliver the keynote address. Spence and his partners built GSD&M into a marketing, advertising, and idea machine.  His passion is entrepreneurship, which he refers to as “the miracle of America.” Spence is also co-founder and CEO of The Purpose Institute and founder of the Promiseland Project.
