ACC making it easier for Austinites to register to vote

KXAN: ACC making it easier for Austinites to register to vote

AUSTIN (KXAN) — With the prime-time debate airing Monday night, Austin Community College wants to remind Austinites to register to vote.
Joining us in the KXAN studio is Dr. Molly Beth Malcolm with ACC.
“Austin Community College is committed to reinforcing the importance of civic participation among our students,” said Malcolm. “Voting is the most basic way our citizens can have a voice. We encourage all of our eligible students to get registered and exercise their rights.”

With busy student schedules, an ACC event is making it easier for them to get involved in politics. The college is hosting a rally on Tuesday in honor of National Voter Registration Day. There will be set-ups in place to help get people registered. You can register to vote, check your voter status, and obtain information on what is needed to cast a vote in Texas. The rally is at the ACC Highland Campus at 11 a.m. It is free and open to the public.
In order to increase civic engagement, ACC’s Student Government Association is hosting a U.S. Presidential Debate viewing Monday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. at Highland Campus’ Social Staircase, 6101 Airport Blvd. The public is encouraged to attend.
