ACC Riverbats All-Stars reign over Australia

ACC’s intramural basketball all-stars faced off with Australia’s Doncaster College Wednesday, December 6, and came home victors. The women Riverbats won 68 to 27 while the men Riverbats won 74 to 40.

The exhibition basketball games were the college’s seventh face-off against Australian college teams.

“It’s an exhilarating experience for our students,” says Tracy Partin, ACC intramural sports & recreation coordinator. “They take great pride in representative ACC. Being selected for the exhibition games isn’t easy. These students are the best of the best on our intramurals team. It’s a great honor. I’m proud of their hard work and accomplishments.”

Sponsored by ACC Student Life, the college’s intramural sports take place in fall and spring, with registration opening the first week of each semester. Sports include basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, coed softball, and flag football.

“Intramurals are becoming increasingly popular,” says Partin. “More than 1,000 students are involved in our leagues each year. It’s a great way to connect with other students and with the college.”
