2015-2016 tuition rates set

Trustees voted to keep tuition rates for both in-district and out-of-district students unchanged for the 2015-2016 academic year. General, sustainability, and student success fees also will remain at their current rates.

The board approved slight increases in out-of-state tuition and out-of-district course fees, up $17 per credit hour and $20 per credit hour, respectively.

Out-of-district students enrolled in ACC dual-credit courses will pay $150 per course, consistent with the amount charged for out-of-district early college high school students. Previously, out-of-district dual credit students paid $75 per course.

Trustees also approved waiving out-of-district course fees for students in the PACE  (University of Texas) or Pathway (Texas State University) co-enrollment programs.

Highland Campus Phase II architect/engineer team presentations

Three architectural/engineering teams presented brief overviews of their qualifications to design Highland Campus phase II renovations.

An ACC evaluation committee selected the firms — Barnes Gromatski Kosarek, O’Connell Robertson, and Page (formerly known as Page Southerland Page) — from 10 submitted proposals. Members of the evaluation committee were:

  • Pamela Collier, Highland Campus phase II project manager
  • Andy Kim, director of environmental stewardship
  • Dorado Kinney, Highland Campus dean of student services
  • Linda Morrison, Highland Campus manager
  • William Mullane, executive director, facilities and construction
  • Rico Rey, heating ventilation & air-conditioning supervisor, building & grounds
  • Robert Rogers, coordinator, environmental health & safety
  • Linda Smarzik, dean of computer studies and advanced technology
  • Rodney Wheeler, construction buyer (non-voting facilitator)

The board expects to choose a firm this summer.
