Emergency Preparedness Week: Be informed to be prepared

Austin Community College will practice emergency response procedures and test its emergency notification system as part of Emergency Preparedness Week January 30-February 5.

The college designates the third week of each semester as Emergency Preparedness Week to educate students, faculty, and staff on the best actions to take if an emergency or disaster occurs on campus. The college will conduct building evacuation drills at select campuses and test the ACC Emergency Alert System districtwide.

Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to familiarize themselves with emergency procedures, including identifying building exits, areas of rescue assistance, and campus rally points where those evacuating should gather until an all clear is given.

ACC will test its Emergency Alert System on Wednesday, February 1. During the test, messages and text alerts will be sent to ACCmail accounts and registered mobile devices. A test message will be posted on the ACC homepage, emergency webpage, and on social media.

Verify or update your contact information in Online Services to receive emergency notifications.
