Elgin Campus earned “Most Active Campus” honors.

Austin Community College congratulates the hundreds of employees getting fit this spring through the second annual “Become an Exercise Star” program.

Almost 90 percent of the 377 participants reached their exercise goal and received a certificate and cooling towel. Elgin Campus earned “Most Active Campus” honors for accumulating the most exercise minutes. Rio Grande and Pinnacle campuses came in second and third place, respectively. All three campuses were recognized by ACC President/CEO Dr. Richard Rhodes at a small ceremony and received wellness baskets to share with their “stars.”

“Become an Exercise Star” is open to beginner, experienced, and expert exercisers who set goals to accumulate 530, 865, or 1,200 exercise minutes over the eight-week program. Participants also take part in campus-based activities such as group walks and healthy happy hours. Watch for another Exercise Star program next spring.
