Library Services’ online tutorials earn national recognition

ACC’s Library Services team is celebrating the inclusion of its Research Success Tutorials in the American Library Association’s Association of College & Research Libraries’ PRIMO Database, a curated collection of materials that model best practices and showcase effective online teaching.

“The input of our academic deans, classroom faculty, library faculty, and of course our English Department helped us create tutorials that address what students and faculty need most,” says Julie Todaro, dean of Library Services. “We’re honored that these tutorials have received the recognition they have – now our teaching/information literacy team will build on what we offer.”

ACC librarians created the short, engaging tutorials.

The Library Services teaching/information literacy team is led by Terry Barksdale, Cypress Creek Campus head librarian and tutorial project lead. Team members are (clockwise from top): David Wilson, Highland Campus librarian; Irena Klaic, Highland Campus librarian; Ashley Carr, Highland Campus librarian; Barksdale; Kristyn Pittman, Northridge Campus librarian; and Courtney Mlinar, Elgin Campus head librarian.

The tutorials will be a featured PRIMO Site of the Month sometime this year. Read more about the recognition.

Library Services plans to add to the collection. Faculty can submit suggestions for topics using the form on the Faculty Teaching Toolbox homepage.
