The spring semester is almost over, but it’s not too early to mark your calendar for General Assembly/Fall Convocation on Friday, September 29, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 208 Barton Springs Rd.
The theme, “The Role of Faculty & Staff in Guided Pathways,” sets the stage for a new framework for faculty involvement in college planning in support of the ACC Strategic Plan. Organizers are working hand-in-hand with faculty associations to plan the content of the event. New and exciting elements include:
New date: Moving the event to late September will allow more faculty and staff to participate, reserving pre-semester schedules for course preparation and student advising.
Morning sessions: Like previous years, the morning will kick off at 8 a.m. with breakfast and an opportunity to visit resource information tables. It will feature a keynote speaker whose presentation will be aimed at the role of faculty and staff in guided pathways.
New afternoon format: After the morning convocation, afternoon sessions remain at the Hyatt to allow for a seamless transition to information and resources. This is a time for employees to dive into the work of guided pathways and collaborate on college initiatives. Lunch will be provided to those taking part in these sessions.
Free shuttles will be available to and from Highland Campus.
Details on the final schedule and RSVP information will be shared soon. Direct any questions to [email protected].

Thank you for moving the date! I agree that moving the date will allow faculty to more fully focus on course preparation and student advising on the Friday before the semester starts. I am looking forward to learning about how we can become more involved in the ACC Strategic Plan.

Moving the date doesn’t work for me at all–I teach Friday mornings!
I will try to attend some afternoon sessions. Thanks.
