Boards play a critical role in advancing a nonprofit’s mission. Strong, knowledgeable boards can elevate an organization’s credibility, and provide important access to the community.

This workshop provides resources and effective board practices as developed by BoardSource, the nation’s leading voice in supporting excellence in nonprofit governance.

  • Define the basic roles of responsibilities of a board member – how much should you expect from your board?

  • Clarify and articulate expectations for board member engagement – does your board know their roles and responsibilities?

  • Cultivate an effective board-staff partnership – do you have clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations for how your Executive Director and board relate?
