Kat has been an adjunct faculty member and department administrative manager since 1986.

After completing her degree at the Ohio Institute of Photography majoring in Medical/Bio Medical and Commercial photography she moved back to Cleveland to work for a commercial/industrial studio where they photographed for clients including BF Goodrich, Goodyear and other large manufacturing industries and steel mills.

In 1986 Kat accepted the position at ACC and moved to Texas. As well as teaching and her administrative job she’s been working on refining her personal professional photography. Creating several portfolios of work ranging from a alternative process series; utilizing the Argyroytpe process of hand coating light sensitive emulsions to paper before printing to her more recent digital series of horse portraits printed on large 26×30 canvases.

Kat’s gallery and published accomplishments include; 33 gallery shows and exhibits in Texas, Ohio, Wyoming, Australia, Turkey and Mexico. Including a 6 month exhibit at The Print History Museum in Houston and a permanent collection at the Texas State Capitol.

Publications include contributing images to a digital photography textbook “Digital Photographic Capture” by Focal Press.
The Professional Photographer of America (PPA) Showcase Book selected Kat’s merited landscape image “Dragon Back Beach” from the National Print Competition for the 2007 PPA Showcase Book.
“Austin Vision Book” Featured photographs in a 250 page coffee table book published by Cityscapes Books 2009.

Kat’s range of professional photography clients have included shooting for music festivals, commercial product clients, portrait clients and was the location manager, behind the scenes photographer, landscapes photographer and model wrangler for a glamour magazine which included the amazing locations from Belize, Barbados, Grenadine Islands and Hawaii.

Enjoying all areas of photography Kat always feels most at home working with students and teaching her courses, which include Landscape Photography, Close-up/Macro and Portfolio Development.
