For the second time ACC’s Photographic Technology Department had the pleasure of hosting the Association of Texas Photography Instructors (ATPI) Winter Conference. The full day conference featured workshops demonstrating the latest trends in professional photography.
The Picture Review Team was delighted to recently host the inspired photographer and storyteller Mr. David Robert Farmerie for a truly awesome, standing room only evening with Hahnemühle Paper.
ACC Photo Students receive top honors while competing at this years Texas Professional Photographers Annual Print Competition
Conceived and founded by Frank Curry with Sean Perry, Tom Grant, William Woodhull and Kathryn Watts-Martinez, we established ACCMe Studio in January 2015 as a student run, commercial photography studio operating within the Department of Photographic Technology.
These are busy days and there is much to share, more than I could ever post in good taste! ACCMe Studio is roaring along, doing fantastic work and growing like weeds. I am so excited for all of you and it’s future. I am still collecting details, but many Picture Review alumni and currents also have shows and recognition to tell you about, it thrills me to watch good work out in the world being seen!

For months last Fall, Ms. Kathryn, Ms. Christine, Mr. Curry, Mr. Woodhull and I crafted a submission for a new grant program concerning student success. I am delighted to share we won, and were fully awarded our proposal! Together with you – we are building a student run, operational photography studio, servicing clients. We believe this type of real world experience is a meaningful way to impact your success rates as photographers, as students and importantly as entrepreneurs. We are calling it ACCMe Studio

ACC Hosts Statewide Photography Conference
High school students and teachers from around the state got a snapshot of the latest trends in photography at the recent Association of Texas Photography Instructors (ATPI) Winter Conference co-hosted by ACC’s Photographic Technology Department.
Fine-art, architectural photographer Sean Perry was recently invited to present for the i3 lecture series at the Masters of Professional Studies in Digital Photography at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Hosted by Mr. Jaime Permuth and Ms. Katrin Eismann and now in it’s sixth season – it has featured many fantastic artists, 48 in all to date. Past presenters include Elinor Carucci, Phil Toledano, Nina Berman and Shen Wei as well as industry professionals Brad Smith (Director of Photography for Sports Illustrated) and Darren Ching. (Owner of Klompching Gallery, New York, and Creative Director of PDN.)
The Picture Review Team were delighted to recently host the remarkable and forever generous Ms. Elizabeth Avedon for, “How I Look at Photographs, a conversation with Elizabeth Avedon & Sean Perry.”
Ms. Avedon spoke about her favorite projects and pictures, including Mike Brodie, Deborah Luster, Vivian Maier and many others. Also her substantial work and background on designing and editing for both the wall and the page In The American West, by Richard Avedon and the grande fashion images in, Avedon: Photographs, 1947-1977.
