Real Estate Club
The purpose of this club is to further the Austin Community College student body’s knowledge about real estate as an industry and as a career. We are committed to providing our members with as much information and knowledge about the real estate industry as we can with the resources that we have access to.
We meet on Mondays at the Highland Campus. At each meeting we have a guest speaker/recruiter from a local brokerage company who covers various new agent topics and makes a pitch to work for their company. We also discuss the Austin real estate market performance at each meeting as well as various real estate skills and techniques. The club has helped many ACC real estate students find a sponsoring broker and get off to a good start in their careers. This club is all about jobs !
Upcoming Real Estate Club Meeting
The Austin Community College Real Estate Club Student Life Organization invites you to join the ACC Real Estate Club meeting on Monday, April 29th, 2024, at the ACC Highland Campus, 6101 Highland Campus Dr, Austin, TX 78752, Building 1000, Room 2208 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. We are offering the meeting HyFlex, so you may choose to join us either in person or virtually on Zoom. This will be the last Real Estate Club meeting of this semester and we will pick up again in Fall.
This month we will continue our speaker series, hear from an Austin area Veterans Administration (VA) Lender. Chad Bowman is the Branch Manager at Veterans United Home Loans. Chad will help you understand how to prepare to serve this important segment in real estate. Chad has a military background as a Gunner in the Marines. VA Buyers can put as little at 0% down on their loans. You will want to work with this segment!
The topics covered will include:
- Rules for VA Loans
- Debt Ratio/Credit Scores – Credit repair program
- How VA loans are different than FHA or Conventional
- Case Study: Helping a Renter turn a VA Loan into $250k in home equity.
