These 16,000 BBC Sound Effects are made available by the BBC in WAV format to download for use under the terms of the RemArc Licence. The Sound Effects are BBC copyright, but they may be used for personal, educational or research purposes, as detailed in the license.

YouTube Audio Library

YouTube offers a huge number of music tracks for free.  These tracks are searchable by genre, duration, instrument and more.  YouTube also offers sound effects.  Be sure to check terms of service and attribution requirements.

Rampant Design

Rampant Design is offering about 30 gigs of free mattes, transitions, overlays and much more.  All in ProRes at 4k.  You may also want to sign up for their mailing list to get info about sales on their full packages and online events.


Action VFX offers premium stock footage for visual effects.  Including a number of elements for free.  But best of all, they offer single elements for a reasonable price.  No need to buy whole collections you may not be able to afford, just to get that one effect you need.
