Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors are student leaders who work in the office of Student Life. They help
to create community at ACC. They engage students by providing them with social, multicultural, recreational, and educational activities on campus.
There are two different opportunities to be a Student Life Ambassador:
1. Campus Ambassadors (campus-based): are the students’ guide to being connected and being involved with Student Life at their home campus. They are student leaders designed to help engage their fellow students by building and connecting them on the campus level. They will help students learn about Student Life events, involvement and service opportunities, and how to invest in their co-curricular experience at ACC. They will help to provide general assistance at their campus Student Life office. In addition to creating, planning, and promoting campus events and supporting district-wide Student Life opportunities on their campuses.
2. Riverbat Ambassadors (district-wide): are the face of the students at ACC. They provide peer-to-peer mentorship to Campus Ambassadors and assist incoming students with the ins and outs of Austin Community College, Admissions, Advising, Areas of Study, Student Life, and much more. They assist students across the district and help to bridge the gaps between students, faculty, and staff throughout the departments at ACC. Since Riverbat Ambassadors are district-wide, they will travel between the various campuses for programming, events, mentoring, etc. They will also be available to implement trainings, promote student engagement, and provide students with various resources throughout the year.

Student Ambassadors will develop various skills that will contribute to their success at ACC and beyond. Benefits include but not limited to:

  • Leadership and professional development
  • Communication and public speaking skills
  • Event planning and community engagement experience
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Networking with faculty, staff, ACC alumni, and community leaders
  • Mentee/Mentor opportunities

As a Student Ambassador each student will gain valuable skills that will aid in each student’s success at ACC, other colleges and universities and in his/her professional career. Riverbat Ambassadors will gain and/or have the ability to:

  • Work with a diverse group of people
