Faculty are invited to apply for the 2019 Digital Fellows Faculty Summer Institute:

Using Mobile Technologies to Achieve General Education Learning Outcomes

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

All faculty members interested in applying technology to their courses are encouraged to apply.  Some experience with mobile technologies such as Apple and Google docs is needed. Participants will be chosen based on their interest in how mobile technologies can potentially resolve or improve an instructional issue in their discipline. All disciplines and areas of study will be included.

10 Faculty will be chosen for this institute and will receive a $500 stipend following the Institute—after attendance and assignment criteria have been met.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear how the 2018-2019 Digital Fellows—college faculty who are currently piloting technology in the classroom—are using the iPad and mobile technology in the classroom to achieve learning outcomes.
  • Learn about the interventions, experiences, outcomes, and lessons learned from the current Digital Fellows who teach art, chemistry, EDUC, English, Integrated Reading & Writing, mathematics, nursing, and physics.
  • Explore mobile strategies for use in their own courses.
  • Develop a learning resource to address an instructional problem, such as a lesson plan, an instructional video, an interactive assessment, or a recipe card for the learning activity.

WHEN, WHERE & HOW

DEADLINE & ACCEPTANCE

Applications are due by March 27, 2019. Applicants will be notified Tuesday, April 17, 2019 of their acceptance into the Faculty Summer Institute.
