Job Title: Welder

Early mornings, open air shop, working as a team or autonomously, following design specifications, measuring metal components, cutting, fabricating ornamental designs, and welding pieces, working in the heat, on-site installations, meeting deadlines…
Does that sound appealing to you? What about welding decorative handrails, gates, fence panels, etc.? It’s OK if the products don’t get you excited. We have enough enthusiasm for you! Spicewood FabWorks is looking to hire a consistent, knowledgeable Welder to join our team.
As a SWFW Welder, you will work on projects in the shop as well as travel to client locations for installations. You will be working alongside the owner and head fabricator, Brook Gehle P.E. With his 15+ years’ experience in this industry, he has an eye for beautiful beads, knows time saving techniques and anticipates a few steps ahead. He’s also a P.E. (Professional Engineer) so precision makes him happy.
If you take constructive criticism well, don’t make the same mistakes repeatedly, and provide consistent results, then this may be the job for you. You will not only earn a paycheck, rather gain experience in every aspect of the fabrication process. And since we brought up pay, this is a contract (1099) position and salary is based upon experience. This is a part-time to full-time position based upon orders received.

Welder Duties and Responsibilities
• Interpret drawings and plans to understand project scope and specifications
• Utilize power tools and equipment, including saws, grinders, drill press, paint sprayers, sand blaster, power washer, etc.
• Use precision measuring tools
• Layout and prep raw materials to weld
• Clamp and tack-weld materials before final welding
• Weld parts in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions
• Maintain proper equipment and work space; repair equipment as needed and clear work space every day

Welder Requirements and Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Degree from an accredited welding program preferred, but not required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Legal to work in the United States
• MIG welding experience a must, stick is a plus but not necessary
• Experience with aluminum welding a plus, but not necessary
• Working knowledge of standard welding tools and techniques
• Able to read design specifications
• Proficient in basic math
• Sandblasting and painting experience or willing to learn
• Able to work on your feet for 4+ hours at a time and lift at least 75lbs

Job Title: Welder Helper

SWFW needs a Welder Helper to assist around the shop. Some of the duties required include cutting materials, prepping materials to be welded, grinding, painting, shop clean-up, etc.
As a SWFW Welder Helper, you will work on projects in the shop as well as travel to client locations for installations. You will be working alongside the owner and head fabricator, Brook Gehle P.E. With his 15+ years’ experience in this industry, he has an eye for beautiful beads, knows time saving techniques and anticipates a few steps ahead. He’s also a P.E. (Professional Engineer) so precision makes him happy.

Job Title: Welder

Company: New Tech Global

Job Location: Cedar Park, TX

Job Description: 

New Tech Global is currently seeking Certified Welders for an oil and gas client in Cedar Park, TX.

Primary Responsibilities
• Lay out, position, align and fit components together using applicable machines, tools and equipment.
• Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for final welding.
• Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing on various ferrous and nonferrous metals, in accordance with established methods and procedures.
• Maintain production documentation per required procedure.
• Performs complex and precision welding techniques.
• Designs, fabricates, joins and/or repairs space age metals, scientific and research components using oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, TIG welding techniques.
• Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, positioners and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools.
• May perform minor operations on metal lathes and milling machine.
• Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications and work orders to determine work requirements, sequence of welding assignments, and personnel needs.
• Maintain sufficient knowledge of geometry, arithmetic, structural design, heat effects and allowances for thickness of metal to project location of holes, cuts and bends from blueprints, written and typed instructions and manufacturer’s specifications.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 4 years of welding experience or completion of an accredited 2-year welding training combined with 2 years for experience
• Ability to setup and run ARC stud in addition to spot welding is required
• Experience welding using MIG and TIG on thin material is preferred
• Knowledge of applicable codes, non-destructive inspection techniques, and welding techniques (oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, TIG, and MIG controlled atmosphere, tools and equipment
• Skill in the fabrication, joining and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures and structures
• Must be available to work overtime as needed
