Auditions for a staged reading: Just How It Is- deadline April 1

For our April Makers and Methods event, we will have be having a stage reading of a brand new play written by ACC Drama Major Chloe Nichols!
Here is the audition announcement:
Seeking actresses (over the age of 18- this play contains mature material) to perform a newly written play entitled Just How It Is for a staged reading. The premise of the play is a group therapy session between 4 women of different decades: the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Each character shares their story about living during that time and the struggles they faced as women (some of their problems continue to persist to this day). This is a staged reading so you will be reading from the script as you perform.
Rehearsals will be in the evening from 4/10-4/12 with the reading occurring on 4/13 at ACC Highland. This play covers transgender issues, abortion, sexual assault, religious issues, and women’s issues so it is important to be comfortable speaking and respectful of these issues. Rewrites can occur for the comfort of actresses. All roles are open casting, BIPOC encouraged to audition for all roles (with the exception of Carmen, who is latina/mixed).
Auditions due by 4/1 with callbacks on 4/3.
Please contact Chloe at [email protected] for a link to the audition form or if you have any questions. Please prepare a 1 minute contemporary monologue, and if auditioning for Carmen also prepare a cutting of a song not to exceed 1 minute.
