{"id":1283,"date":"2021-12-14T12:11:42","date_gmt":"2021-12-14T18:11:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/administrative-rules\/?p=1283"},"modified":"2024-05-01T10:30:02","modified_gmt":"2024-05-01T15:30:02","slug":"1283","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/administrative-rules\/?p=1283","title":{"rendered":"Full-Time Faculty Placement and Advancement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Value Statement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Austin Community College District (\u201cACC\u201d or \u201cthe College\u201d) will place and advance faculty commensurate with teaching and\/or other experience relevant to the mission of the College and the academic needs of programs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Administrative Rule:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Salaries for the academic year are set forth in the annual faculty salary scale published in the Compensation Information Manual.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Placing faculty on the faculty salary scale is the responsibility of the Human Resources (HR) Compensation Office.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting documentation must be filed with HR by October 1 of each year in order to receive placement credit.<\/li>\n<li>Eligible faculty will be advanced to Level 2, 3, or 4 at the beginning of the next fiscal year. Eligible faculty will be advanced to level 5 upon receipt of a Ph.D. or Ed.D. effective the next semester.<\/li>\n<li>New faculty will be placed no higher than step 15 (corresponding to 15 years of prior experience).<\/li>\n<li>In evaluating experience for faculty:\n<ul>\n<li>Credit for past full-time teaching will be based on the total number of full-time equivalent years of teaching at previous institutions.<\/li>\n<li>Credit for past part-time teaching will be at the rate of one year for each 30 credit hours.
