We are navigating this evolving landscape together, grounded in ACC\u2019s fundamental college values of courage, compassion, joy, and yes. <\/p>\n<p>Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) uses machine learning models, trained on large datasets, to create content (text, images, video, audio, code, etc.) in response to prompts entered by a human.  GenAI is a subset of artificial intelligence, but unlike traditional artificial intelligence (AI) that analyzes or classifies existing data, GenAI learns underlying patterns to produce outputs.<\/p>\n<p>This website is your central space to explore how ACC is implementing GenAI across the College. The work is guided by ACC\u2019s Collegewide AI Strategic Planning and Implementation Steering Committees in close partnership with the Information Technology (IT) department and varied stakeholders from across the college.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Here, you\u2019ll find resources, policies, and guidance to help you make informed and ethical decisions about GenAI use in our classrooms, offices, and communities.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How We Approach GAI at ACC<\/h2>\n<p>At Austin Community College, we\u2019re building our approach to GenAI with <strong>people first<\/strong> \u2014celebrating and embracing the unique thoughts and contributions of our students, faculty, and staff. As GenAI tools continue to evolve, we\u2019re taking thoughtful, strategic steps to make sure they support learning, equity, and innovation. Our values guide every policy and practice we build around GenAI.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00a0What Guides Our Work on GenAI?<\/h4>\n<p>We\u2019re committed to values that reflect who we are as a college and what our community needs to thrive.
