COVID-19 Update: Face Coverings Recommended | Faculty & Staff

Dear ACC Employees,

This evening Travis County and the City of Austin announced new recommendations that ask all residents who leave their homes to wear facial coverings. This important step to help prevent COVID-19 aligns with new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

It has been well established by the CDC that persons who are asymptomatic can spread this disease without knowing it. In addition to social distancing and routine hand washing, a facial covering made of fabric, such as a mask, bandana, scarf, or gaiter can help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Please see the attached press release and “how to” handout for additional information. We ask that all college personnel adhere to these recommendations.
