ACC to begin offering on-campus, in-person application assistance for spring registration

Dear Staff and Faculty,

We believe ACC is for Everyone, and we want to ensure our community members know we are present and ready to support them as they pursue their educational goals. During this time, more than ever, the digital divide is very real. While we have made great strides to provide support to our existing students — through remote support services, emergency funds, technology support, and on-campus computer access and study space —-safely providing limited access to in-person enrollment support is also mission critical.

We will begin by offering on-campus application assistance by appointment to our adult education, continuing education, and credit-seeking applicants. As Dr. Rhodes shared in his November 19 message, the health, safety and well-being of our students and employees are at the forefront of the decisions made as we continue our strategic and gradual return to campus. Providing this in-person and on-campus access has been a tremendous, collaborative effort among multiple divisions — it is truly a representation of the 3 Cs: Collaboration, Connection & Caring.

Starting Monday, December 7, core teams from Adult Education, Continuing Education, and Enrollment Services will rotate at the Round Rock, Highland, and Riverside campuses to support students seeking in-person guidance. These meetings will be by appointment only. Hours of operation and appointment information may be found at austincc.edu/startnow.

Our return to campus continues to be a slow, steady, and thoughtful process. We are currently asking our students to complete a Back to Campus survey. We encourage you to share this link with students.Their feedback will help inform our decisions. We want to assure you that this is not a mass return, but rather a commitment to the needs of our community as we continue our work to meet equity in access. As we monitor what is happening in our region and plan for how best to safely meet the needs of our community, we will continue to keep you posted on any developments.

Thank you for your commitment to our students and ACC Community.

Sincerely,

Mike Midgley
