ACC’s Health & Safety Protocols Remain in Place | Faculty & Staff and Students

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

As you may have heard, the State of Texas will lift its statewide mandate for face masks beginning Wednesday, March 10. Recommendations regarding masks and social distancing from our healthcare partners have not changed. Austin-Travis County Interim Health Authority Dr. Mark Escott told Austin City Council and Travis County Commissioners today that while COVID-19 numbers have declined statewide, removing protections like mask requirements right now could result in a reversal of progress.

As part of our ACC effort to keep employees and students safe, we have no plans to change the mask requirement at this time. Austin Community College District’s health and safety protocols remain in place. Those protocols include social distancing and facial coverings that cover your nose and mouth.

Updates will be shared by email and posted to the college’s Coronavirus informational webpage.

Best,

Dr. Molly Beth Malcolm
Executive Vice Chancellor
Campus Operations and Public Affairs
Austin Community College District
