Dear Faculty and Staff,
Last week, new COVID-19 health and safety protocols went into effect across our state. As you may have read in a message from our Chancellor, these changes mean ACC can no longer require face masks on campus. We recognize that, for some, this may be an uncomfortable change. As we make this transition, your well-being remains a top priority. We continue to encourage anyone who is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to make time to do so. The vaccine has proven to be an effective measure to protect yourself against the virus.
With this in mind, the college has evaluated opportunities to make it easier for employees to get the vaccine. As of Monday, May 24, ACC employees are eligible for up to two hours of Administrative Leave in order to get their COVID vaccination. This temporary allowance allows for two hours of time per shot. Please make arrangements with your supervisor if you would like to take time to get vaccinated. On your timesheet or leave report, you should code your leave as Administrative Leave and enter “COVID-19 Vaccine” in the comment box. Any additional time beyond the two hours will need to be recorded as personal/sick leave.
Employees who previously used personal/sick leave for their shot will have the opportunity to reclassify their leave to Administrative Leave. Please watch your email for more details and instructions on how to get your original leave restored. This email will come from Neil Vickers.
We will continue to administer COVID-19 vaccinations on campus. To view the schedule, visit our COVID-19 Vaccinations webpage. You also may search for vaccine availability near you by visiting www.vaccines.gov.
