You Can Learn Anything: Khan Academy

The Head of Higher Education Partnerships from the Khan Academy, Naomi Davidson, will be presenting the resources that the Khan Academy has to offer! Learn more about the not-for-profit with the goal of changing education for the better by providing a free world-class education for anyone anywhere. There are a variety of tools in this free online platform that can supplement students in a variety of subjects as well as non-cognitive development.

 

Expand Your Teaching Toolbox: 5 Technologies and 5 Games to Connect and Engage Your Students

Reinvigorate your classroom with creative teaching technologies, games and exercises. Learn five kick app technologies for engaging students along with five creative games and exercises to keep them wanting more. See how these tools cultivate creativity in the classroom and effortlessly enhance student retention. The course will also discuss how these tools tie into best practices and principles for advancing learning in the classroom. This workshop, led by Jerod Morales and Merrilee Shopland, is an amalgam of two workshops (Technology & Engagement, Creative Innovations) presented the day of General Assembly

 

Classroom Management Dynamics

Recognize the patterns of classroom dynamics and learn a variety of ways to build a vital, engaging class culture. This workshop will include practicing tone, engagement/communication techniques, “classroom as an individual” idea, and how to keep participation going in this digital age.

Wendy Muse Greenwood has over 25 years of HR, Training, and Development consulting experience. She is a published Writer, Public Speaker, Intellectual Property Law Adviser and business owner. She provides inspirational lectures to artists, students and organizations. Her background is in educational curriculum design, law, journalism and teaching. She has earned a BA honors in Creative and Professional Writing and has her LL.M/MA in Intellectual Property Law.
