Dear Faculty Colleagues,
Welcome to this week\u2019s\u00a0Senate\u00a0Standard.\u00a0 Below you will find information about the October 9 Full-Time Faculty\u00a0Senate\u00a0meeting. All full-time faculty are invited to attend (but only\u00a0senators\u00a0and their proxies can vote). The General Assembly is Friday this week, the committee looking at adjunct hiring practices is looking for a full-time faculty member to participate in the discussions (poll closes at 5PM on Thursday this week), and the call for committee members for the Instructional Technology Advisory Committee members closes at 5PM on Wednesday.\u00a0 The \u201chot off the presses\u201d news is the results of the 2020 Climate Survey. You\u2019ll be very interested in following the link to that report below. Among the \u201ckey insights\u201d is the statement, \u201cThe college must make improvements in key areas, such as communication within and across units, top-down and bottom-up; transparent decision-making with opportunities for input; clarity around police and procedures with rationale for changes; and a culture that fosters respect and caring.\u201d The Full-Time Faculty\u00a0Senate\u00a0continues to strive to do its part in transparent decision making as part of the Shared Governance structure. And, through the\u00a0Senate\u00a0Standard, we are contributing to improved communication.\u00a0 If you think of ways the\u00a0Senate\u00a0can contribute to improving the campus climate, let us know!

Climate Survey Results:<\/strong>\u00a0Austin Community College District\u2019s Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics administers a climate survey every two to three years to provide insights into employee opinions and satisfaction in the college. In 2020, a survey was conducted between February 7 and March 6 with all 6,879 full- and part-time employees invited to participate. Survey: Preferred Payroll Cycle [September 25 @ 5:00pm] \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>The new ERP (Workday) is going to allow the College to do many things that were not possible or convenient in Colleague. Many of the new and improved functionalities will be in the areas of HR and Payroll. Please take a minute or two to let us know if you have a preferred Payroll Cycle (or maybe you have no preference at all) by responding to a very brief, 3-question survey. Responses are anonymous. The survey will close on Friday, September 25.\u00a0Click here to take the survey.<\/a>

Volunteer to be an ITAC Rep [due September 23] \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>The next ITAC meeting is 9\/30, so we\u2019ll want to get our volunteers appointed ASAP. Remember, we\u2019re looking for one Workforce and one Academic full-time faculty member, ones with significant experience with instructional technology and keeps an eye on emerging technologies.
