Senate Meeting March 8<\/strong><\/td><\/tr>
We are holding a Faculty Senate meeting this Friday. You can find the tentative agenda here<\/a>. For all faculty attending the meeting (online or in person), please everyone do not forget to RSVP <\/a>\u00a0by this Thursday at 4 pm.\u00a0 For Senators who will miss the meeting, please have a proxy for the meeting.

Spring Commencement Date<\/strong><\/td><\/tr>
This year\u2019s spring graduation ceremony will be held Friday, May 17. We traditionally have held ACC\u2019s graduation ceremonies during the week of final exams, not the week after.\u00a0 This year it was not possible to reserve a venue in Austin to accommodate the large number of students, families, faculty, and staff attending this important event for that previous week.

We hope to see you there, but since faculty are off-contract that day you are not required to attend.\u00a0\u00a0<\/td><\/tr>
Senate Elections – Second Round of Nominations<\/strong><\/td><\/tr>
Thanks to all faculty that have been nominated (and accepted) to be part of the Senate for next year.\u00a0

Here are the current vacant Senate seats:

Areas of Study – Four vacancies, one from each area:<\/strong>
Arts, Digital Media & Communications<\/em>
Computer Science & IT<\/em>
Design, Manufacturing, Construction, and Applied Technologies<\/em>
Student Affairs<\/em>

Campus Representatives – Five vacancies, one from each of the following campuses:<\/strong>
Cypress Creek<\/em>
Hays<\/em>
Highland Campus<\/em>
Rio Grande<\/em>
South Austin<\/em>

Per our bylaws nominees in the second round of nominations can fill a vacant position or contest any position that already has a nominee, including the President-Elect position. Administrative Services Council (ASC): Open for Faculty Comments<\/strong><\/td><\/tr>
The Administrative Services Council (ASC) has reviewed and approved proposed changes to the following Administrative Rule (AR) and posted the draft for comments from ACC employees:

4.0501.01 \u00a0Payroll<\/strong>
–\u00a0 The proposed changes are non-substantive (updates to department names and position titles, grammatical corrections, and removal of redundant language).\u00a0

ASAC (Academic and Student Affairs Council): Open for Faculty Comments<\/strong>

Item one:<\/strong>\u00a0Revised <\/em>Faculty Evaluation Form<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 <\/em>\u00a0This is a follow\/up to the existing Guideline\/Procedure 4.1201.02.1 that was approved on 5\/9\/23.\u00a0 As we move into this new approach to evaluation, ASAC approved a draft of the content<\/strong> of the updated evaluation summary form.\u00a0 We are requesting faculty feedback on the content that will eventually be available in a fillable form and a cleaner format.
Please use the Faculty Evaluation Form- Comment Form<\/a> to submit any comments.

Item two:<\/strong>\u00a0Faculty Librarians G\/P<\/em><\/a>
This G\/P (Guideline\/Procedures) is related to faculty evaluations for librarians.\u00a0 To support the updates to the faculty evaluation process adopted in AY 2023, these Guidelines\/Procedures were drafted for Faculty Librarians and are available for faculty comment.

ACC\u2019s New College Values – Survey<\/strong>

We have been tasked (both adjunct and full-time faculty) to come up with a number of behaviors to be aligned with the new college values.\u00a0 The Chancellor will go into depth on both the Theory of Change and Values at the collegewide Data Summit on Wednesday, March 27.\u00a0

The Chancellor introduced the new values at his town hall talk<\/a> on January 19th (begins at 28:11) and had a more concrete discussion of these with the Board of Trustees at the February 12 special session<\/a> (begins at 10:18).\u00a0\u00a0
