HART 2443 – Industrial Air Conditioning

Prerequisite: HART 2431 Advanced Electricity for HVAC

In this course students are introduced to Industrial Air Conditioning. They study the components, accessories, applications and installation of air conditioning systems above 25 tons in capacity.

Students learn about the maintenance and upkeep of air handling units, cooling towers and liquid chillers. In addition, the students trace out and follow the path of the water piping system including the centrifugal pump.

The industrial A/C system and chiller controls are also taught as part of this curriculum. This course is usually offered in the Spring semester and more often when student demand warrants additional classes.
