JCAHO requires verification of competency of all individuals who have direct contact with patients or employees; this includes students doing clinical rotations in the facility. Competency extends beyond technical skills to an individual\u2019s criminal history.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1776356975442{margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”]<\/p>\n Criminal Background Checks are conducted through Complio by American Data Bank<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n Results from other agencies will not be accepted. Instructions for ordering your criminal background check through Complio will be provided by your department.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1750968624590{margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”]<\/p>\n Successful completion of a criminal background check is required for admission and continuation in all Health Sciences Programs. Students will be given specific directions from the program about how to obtain the background check.<\/span> Do not submit an order until you receive directions from the department.<\/b><\/p>\n Background checks will be honored for the duration of the student\u2019s enrollment in the clinical program if the participating student has not had a break in the enrollment of a Health Science class. A break in enrollment is defined as nonattendance of one full eligible semester or more.
