Spring break is just around the corner!
Now, I’m going to be real with you. When I was in college, my Spring breaks were spent with my family. It never occurred to me that I could stay–my family lives 5 hours away–but if I were to do it all over again, I would definitely take advantage of making the most of my time!
- Pick up some temporary employment! The A List Exceptional Staffing Agency looks for people available for that week. This could be the start of you establishing your presence and being picked up for other events (such as the Austin Food & Wine Festival).
- Consider signing up to do Lyft, Uber, Fasten, or Fare. Austin will have thousands of people from all over the world coming to Austin, so the demand for ridesharing services is going to be high! If you have a vehicle and don’t mind driving around downtown, consider this!
- Get on with Postmates/Uber Eats/Favor. With all of those tourists also comes a rising demand for food! Sign up for delivery and make some extra cash.
- Volunteer or get an intership with SXSW! This is your time to build your resume, get some amazing experiences, and build your network. There are internships outside the SXSW universe, such as this one from the Austin Film School. Not all of these internships are paid, so please keep that in mind.
